A little background first. I'm a student in a technical school and it's probably about 40% women there. Most of the women I try to approach do not hold eye contact or never do.
I immediately thought they were stuck up or something... like they are scared of men or sex. Now my friend tells me he had a couple of girls telling him that they don't like the way I look at them.
I was so confused when he told me this. I always try my best to hold an innocent eye contact -- now I hear this! Is it me or is it the girls in my school that I must avoid? Should I work on my holding eye contact more or should I just let these girls go?

Dear Confused,
There are different kinds of eye contact – flirtatious eye contact and the long stare. If you’re holding eye contact and don’t look away with a woman for 10 seconds that can be sexy. However, if you stare her down – for minutes and minutes – it can get kind of creepy.
The difference is between being flirtatious and stalking.
That being said, making eye contact is NOT a necessary requirement for meeting a woman.
90% of the women I approach did not make eye contact with me.
Holding eye contact in and of itself does nothing. At best, it can feed your ego if a girl makes eye contact with you and makes you feel good about yourself. But in reality eye contact alone gets you nowhere with a girl.
And if you limit yourself to only approaching girls who make eye contact with you, you’re eliminating 90% to 99% of your possibilities. How sad.
In fact, most of my best responses from women came from women who did NOT make eye contact with me.
